Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) is sold alongside a wide range of financial products, such as mortgages, loans, credit cards, store cards and single product purchases such as furniture. PPI policies cover repayments in the event that you are unable to make your payments because of redundancy or inability to work due to illness or injury.

PPI policies are often added to the loan and can add thousands of pounds to your costs over the life of the loan.
